Select on/off birthday list on main forum page?

Would it be possible to make it so we can toggle on/off the lists of birthdays on the main forum page? Or even so if we select not to view the lists of birthdays, it just creates a link like the "Members Online" link, might save some bandwidth for those who don't want to view such things, have it load on every forum index view, etc.

This will likely be an option in a future version of the software (we have so many bdays now that I can see people wanting to turn this off).

Why aren't birthdays disabled? For a forum like this with nearly 150,000 members it seems a little wasteful of screen space if not bandwidth.

I so wish I can turn it off.. I already disable looking at signatures

also the on/offline users it woudl be useful to be able to turn that off.

I've noticed the birthdays no longer show up on the main page, thank you!
