I noticed in this post - link - that it says that the rules don't allow posting the same question in multiple forums.
Since that is the rule, if I post a question in a forum, and it doesn't receive any responses, is there a recommended course of action for trying to ask the question in another forum?
Distribution: Void, Linux From Scratch, Slackware64

I don't know the official policy but you can always ask a mod to move your thread if you think it is in the wrong forum, if you do need to rephrase your question and post in another forum make sure you mark the okd thread as 'SOLVED'.
Often you do not get replies because your question is too vague, like this. No clue what distribution is used, what is the goal - kernel upgrade or something else.
I believe I'm making the same point as Emerson has as well. And to add to that another useful link to read is the Welcome to LQ link which discusses methods to ask effective questions.
Keith Hedger is correct. The right way to request your question be evaluated for being moved to another forum is to click the REPORT button and request that a moderator move it. They will at least be alerted and if your question is too vague, they'll alert you to this fact, or if they do agree that the question should be in a different forum, they will move it.
