Angry unable to post to forums whith firefox

Being a n00b to these forums (not to linux though), I don't seem to be
able to post with firefox (0.8)/slackware 9.0.
subject works, but text-box doesn't accept anything (no cursor).
Konqueror and Opera work fine, but I'd prefer firefox!

Just found this error-message in firefox's JavaScript Console -hmmm, might be relevant-

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMNSHTMLDocument.designMode]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...in_textedit.js :: anonymous :: line 1263" data: no]

Fine with me, I even considered that - just thought it wouldn't fit with
forums' description if you interpreted in a narrow way...

I've never had a problem with Firefox, but .80 is extremely old and subject to a large number of security vulnerabilities, so you really should upgrade.

Arrow

Posting does work though in a kurumin hd-install -which turned to a debian unstable- with same version
(0.8) of firefox; so I assume there must be some other factor...
BTW: No error-message in firefox's JavaScript Console here, so probablymight have to do something
with js...
