pibby,

I'm not sure how it worked. It didn't work under Konqueror I suppose because I didn't use the proper version of Java or had something misconfigured. Under Mozilla it has worked with no problem and I am using whatever Java came preconfigured with it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

BTW ... pretty funny about the root password. Maybe I didn't explain it all that well I should reinforce that it is *very* easy to totally screw things up. Same appears to hold true about Windows since my son will have an install pretty well trashed within a month or so. He's 13 and actually pretty good with computers but downloads his theme du jour on a weekly basis and is constantly loading and unloading stuff until Windows finally has enough. I've never detected a virus though so I think it's just poor installs/uninstalls which has always seemed to me to be really queer. After all these years you would think that would be bullet proof. I'm always amazed when I see all the core Windows dll's being updated. I'm not sure if that's proper procedure under XP but if so I can't believe they still think that's a good idea. OTOH ... I'm pretty dumb about stuff like that.

Regards,
Eric

inode ... it is a baseball reference for a player that can bat either left-handed or right-handed. They often "switch hit" depending on which hand the pitcher uses. It is slang for bisexual. I regret having mentioned it. I'm very liberal and could care less about someone's sexual preferences. Oh well ... there is no place for that stuff and I apologize if I offended anyone.

Regards,
Eric
