Iam new to Linux


Iam new to Linux and Iam not sure where I can get the software can anyone tell me where I can buy it? I would like to try and see how it works for me.

If you have high speed internet or friend who does you can download and number of distro ISO images to burn to a CD. If you what to try it before installing get a copy of Knoppix Live CD or Ubuntu Live CD.
Goto http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...isplay.php?f=5 to see the number of distro names to choose from. Read up on them. Many choose Suse, Mandriva, of Fedora Core to start with. Once they understand linux then some go onto Ubuntu or Gentoo.

If you would rather buy a Linux cd, I would suggest buying Linspire. I've never used it myself, but I've heard it's a really good operating system for people moving to Linux. Also, late this year there is supposed to be a community version of Linspire out for free called Freespire.
