Which version of linux is ideal for installing on vps( dual core, 2gb ram) for remote access + browser with 2 tabs open all the time


Hi,
noob with linux

Just wanted to know
Which version of linux is ideal for installing on vps( dual core, 512-4gb ram) for remote access + browser with 2 tabs open all the time

Current Experiments:
Vultr.com:
VPS :1CPU, 1GB RAM, 25GB SSD, IPV4
Setup: Ubuntu 22.04 x64+ Xfce + Xdrp
STATUS: accessed via win 10 RDP(working for now, only Firefox keeps crashing even with single tab open, have not found a solution yet)

eugamehost.com:
VPS1: 1CPU Dual Intel E5 2699v3, 2GB RAM, 60GB SSD, IPV4
Setup: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS 5.15.0-91-generic,
STATUS: Xfce + Xdrp installed but could not get it to work, still trying, using their local VNC service for now

VPS2:1CPU Dual Intel E5 2699v3, 4GB RAM, 60GB SSD, IPV4
Setup: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS 5.15.0-91-generic,
STATUS: Xfce + Xdrp installed but could not get it to work, still trying, using their local VNC service for now

OVHCloud.com:
VPS1: 1CPU single vcore, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB SSD, IPV4
Setup: Ubuntu 22.04 - deprecated - 2023-12-06
STATUS: have not found a xfce + xrdp guide that works for this host yet, still looking and trying different guide after reinstalling linux each time

suggestions are welcome for distro/version, gui and remote desktop access system
would appreciate a link to guide related to installation for the same

Current challenge: would appreciate any tips on configuring the remote desktop on the vps servers and error handling for reasons it is not working.

The Going Linux podcast just did a review of some light-weight distros. I'm not necessarily saying that the distros they discussed would necessarily be the ones for you (but LXQT would be worth a look), but I think you would find their approach to the subject helpful.

You might also want to take a look at MX and AntiX.
