Hi everyone, first time posting here
I've done a minimal Debian testing install today, I spent a while installing everything including mpd and ncmpcpp.
When I first installed them, everything was working great IIRC. But after installing Flash as per the
Debian Wiki instructions, something strange started happening with the ncmpcpp pause behaviour.
Since I installed pulseaudio, I had to add the following to my .asoundrc :
Code:
pcm.pulse {
type pulse
}
ctl.pulse {
type pulse
}
pcm.!default {
type pulse
}
ctl.!default {
type pulse
}
Unfortunately, I have no idea what all this means, all I know is that I need it for Flash to work under Chromium.
After doing this, the following happens in ncmpcpp:
- Playing a song (say, at 100% volume)
- Pause it
- Resume it
- Volume indicator says 0%, but songs still plays at the volume it was before
- Try to increase volume
- Volume indicator starts increasing from 1%, so does the actual volume at which the song is playing at
So if I want to pause a song, resume it and then change the volume, I need to keep holding down the right arrow for a while. Pretty annoying.
Note that if I rename the .asoundrc file, everything instantly starts working as it should (except sound in Flash).
Is there a way to make them both work?
Thanks in advance for all the help!
