problem installing driver


I am trying to install hostap on a sony picture book, i have two of them and it installed fine on one of them. The other one it compiles fine but when i go to install i get the following error message...

It looks like the installer is trying to use resources that don't exist in your kernel. I also notice that your kernel is 2.4.18-3custom. Some drivers (many drivers) won't function properly if you built them under 2.4.18-3. For instance, many drivers need to be installed and then also ask you to recompile your kernel. However, since the first part of the driver was built under "2.4.18-3" and recompile changes the name of the kernel to "2.4.18-3custom", the drivers won't work. The solution is to prevent the kernel from changing it's name when you recompile.
