Problem installing VGA Driver...

I have VGA Card Geforce4 Nvidia MX 420. I have download the linux driver of it in the form of '.rpm' . I have installed 'kernel' then 'GLX'. then config. 'XF86Config-4' wherever the code necessary. Then also it is showing warning -

(WW) Cannot locate APM
..................
...................
................
(EE) Device not Found

It has been a horrible situation for me. Plz help me. Thanks.

What I would do would be unistalling the RPM - Then download the driver from NVidia and follow the instructions.

I think the current version is called - NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run

Type "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run" to install the driver.

Answer yes if you agree to the license terms - It could be the simplest solution to your problem.
