Postfix and POP3 on MDK 9.2

Hi all,

We have registered a domain and 1 pop3 email account with our registrar. Unfortunately our DSL ISP (Earthlink) does not permit us to have smtp port 25 open to send and receive mail directly. All outbound emails must be sent to our ISP's servers and then they relay them onwards.

We have a small network consiting of 6 users. All users must see the same email thus 1 pop3 mail account for all. I have postfix configured to send our outbound emails via the isp without any problems. Have been playing with fetchmail to retrieve our inbound emails from our remote pop3 account but have not had any luck getting them distributed to our local users on our network. etchmail polls and downloads the mails no problem but when it hits our postifx server it says: 'X-Fetchmail-Warning: recipient address myaddress@earthlink.net didn't match any local name'. Have tried to configure aliases using Webmin with success. I guess the problem is with multidrop distribution?

Any tips, suggestions, your experiences?

Many thanks in advance!

Sounds like you do not have fetchmail configured correctly. Look at the fetchmail documentation for 'is'

Example in ~/.fetchmailrc:

poll my.isp.net protocol pop3:
user remote with pass secret is LinuxInNH here

Chaecks my.isp.net using pop3, logs in with username 'remote' and password 'secret' and delivers
any mail to local user 'LinuxInNH' (which needs to be valid of course)
