Setting up Postfix and POP3

Hi there,

I just set up a Linux server to use on my LAN and on the WAN as a webserver and FTP server. Now what I'd like to do is set it up to be a mail server as well instead of using my Winodws box to be my mail server. I am using Mandrake 10.0 and it came with Postfix installed. Can anyone help me set that up? I'd also like to set up some sort of POP3 also so that I can log in and check my mail from Evolution or something like that. I dont' know which POP3 server to use. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

I personally prefer to use IMAP - which keeps the email on the server and means you can try out a variety of clients and not have all the hassle of converting mail. Courier-Imap is in the contribs of 10.0 and is very easy to setup and install.......

Install Webmin of your MDK discs and navigate to https://[ip address of your box]:10000 and there's a nice wizard there for setting up postfix. You may wish to do (as I have) smtp relay where your machine simply hands ovcer all mail to your ISP's webserver...

Also look up amavisd and spamassassin

if you need more help email me
