OTRS Ticketing System

Has anyone ever used the OTRS ticketing system on a Linux server? We currently have it running on RHEL4 ES and recently it has been dog slow. Users are still able to submit tickets to the system via email however when I attempt to close a ticket - they take over 2 minutes to respond - it is beyond slow and I don't know what to do or how to check what could be hosing up the system.

Well there's Chapter 17. Performance Tuning of the OTRS 2.0 - Admin Manual to start with. Please don't come back and say "it doesn't help" but post what you checked, what steps you took and how it changed things (or not). Also best make a system performance baseline with Dstat or SAR or whatever tools you need so you actually have objective data to compare with.
