mplayer/xine gentoo PS3 PPC64 32ul


Hi,

I have "successfully" installed Gentoo on my Playstation 3. Now i have emerged both xine and mplayer including win32codecs to play my movies.. But they won't play, i get these errors:

It would appear you have installed win32codecs but you compiled mplayer without support for it. Open up /usr/porage/packages.desc, put in win32codecs as an mplayer specific use flang and recompile using the --newuse option. You could be missing more, it's just what immediately caught my attention.

Edit: I see more, it would be a good idea to enable real, mmx and sse2 as well.

And it doesn't matter that my CPU ( the Cell processor ) doesn't support those options?

Oh, I see. I thought we were talking about the AMD in your signature - AMD does support mmx, sse and sse2. But you would still need to recompile mplayer to support win32codecs and perhaps real too, even when you exclude the instructions sets.
