Hey all! I have mandrake 8.1 and am ready to install it.. One problem tho. I wanna know if there will be any issues before I demolish windows. I want to run kinux on HDB. windows is on HDA.. how do I set it up to boot windows too? I had problems doing htat with mandrake 7.2.. and also.. I am running duel monitors with different resolutions on each.. are the duel monitors in mandrake hard to set up?

MDK will find WIndows and make a dualboot nearly without questions. You don't have to worry. Just run "expert mode" install (which isn't really for experts only, it's just normal installation method for me).
Dual monitors? Haven't tried. But I think it wil work. It's just a matter of X configuration.

k.. When I did that before with redhat 7.2, it wouldn't boot windows. Then again, I don't think I chose expert mode either. Any way of backing up my MBR so when I screw it up, I can restore my windows boot?

thanx

MBR has copies. In case of trouble use fdisk /mbr (DOS/Windows fdisk).

everything is up and running!

wow amndrake 8.1 is easy to install! everything is configured for you also! A little slow on this 400 MHZ comp.. but still good! One thing tho... My duel monitors don't work.. It wants to detect my 2nd monitor first.. I went to the "configure both heads ssepratly" but it would only let me configure my primary monitor.. I am just using that one rite now uuntil I can figure this out..

any ideas?
Thanx..
Jude
