Mandrake 10.1 Text Install stops at "Checking 'hlt' Instruction..."

I am trying to install Mandrake 10.1 onto a computer with a blank 20-GB Hard Drive and 120 MB Ram in it (with an AMD K6 processor) . However, it kept on stopping when I did the default install so I did the text install, and then I got a message saying that I should add "acpi=force" to the "text" command so I did that but it is still stopping at the line below:

Any suggestions? BTW, if this is relevant, farther up on the page, it says "No local APIC present or hardware disabled".

Unfortunately you may have one of those K6's with the Microcode bug.

While this could also be due to the motherboard, it's usually the processor which is to blame.

Ugh!

Try downloading a livelinux CD and bring it up with EVERYTHING disabled.

If it comes up, you may be able to specify kernel parameters to the installer to get Linux running.

If not, you are out of luck.
