Question invalid module format when starting alsa modules

I upgraded my gcc compiler to version 3.4.3 and tried installing the ALSA-1.09rc4a driver (latest). Everything seemed to go okay, no errors at least, but when I start the alsa modules, I get an error message. I am using RedHat 8 on the linux 2.6.11.11 kernel with an ens1371 sound card. Here is a copy of the error.

WARNING: Error inserting snd_page_alloc (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/acore/snd-page-alloc.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting snd (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/acore/snd.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting snd_timer (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/acore/snd-timer.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting snd_pcm (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/acore/snd-pcm.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting snd_ac97_codec (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/pci/ac97/snd-ac97-codec.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting snd_seq_device (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/acore/seq/snd-seq-device.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting snd_rawmidi (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/acore/snd-rawmidi.ko): Invalid module format
FATAL: Error inserting snd_ens1371 (/lib/modules/2.6.11.11/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.ko): Invalid module format

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
