how to log off x-window from terminal ?

i running redhat9, i wonder how could I logoff x-window from the terminal window, so i don't have to click on red hat(menu button) --> then log out,(some time when i do that, it take long long time to get the logoff window to show up), (i also try use kill command, it doesn't work quiet well)...

<CTRL><ALT><BS> will kill your X session, loggin you out.
