Dmenu Turned Black

Recently during massive upgrading of Slack, my Dmenu got ruined. It's colored black instead of gray and has white type foreground. I was able to change this to white background, but dmenu's neat completion feature is no longer available. I am not sure what this is about, but I tried reinstalling dmenu and fiddling with it's script.

Dmenu if you dont know is a simplistic program launcher that appears as a small bar on your desktop that you can without the mouse type a few letters, then it produces a lot of programs with similar first letters alphabetically, which can be chosen to launch programs. It's this completion that is now gone.
