Audacity probs, MDK 9.2, GNOME libwx_gtk-2.4.so: cannot open shared object file

I compiled Audacity from Sourceforge. No apparent probs, all went well. But when running it all I get is:

audacity: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk-2.4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Looked for audacity: libwx_gtk-2.4.so and found the link tolibwx_gtk-2.4.so.0.1.1 right where it's supposed to be in usr/lib.

Which is more that a bit odd...
Any ideas?

Ta,
Bob

Try

ldconfig -v | more

and look for libwx_gtk-2.4.so , if it appears then try audacity again.
