Unhappy 2.6.9-2.6.10 ide issues

Everything works fine with 2.6.8.1 and below. But from 2.6.9 to 2.6.10-rc3 the ide detection at bootup takes about 30 seconds. What has changed from the previous releases that makes this kind of thing to happen? My mobo chipset is an Intel 852GM and my hdd is a 2.5" Seagate Momentus. The dmesg output is exactly the same as in 2.6.8.1, though. Very strange. Another thing is that the slow-on-852gm kernel 2.6.9-10 works fine on a nForce2 mobo. Does somebody came across a solution?
