Send it as someone else.
You don't say HOW you're sending it (web for? PHP? calling sendmail/mailx direct? Command line??), version/distro of Linux, or give any details, so it's hard to say. If you're sending through a web page, your web engine is running as some other user (like www-data), so you'll have to specify the "from" explicitly.
