I've tried newest Kubuntu LTS 20.04 and since everything, included printer, worked fine I decided to install it. After installing I can print from Libre Office Writer but it is impossible to print test page from System Settings->Printers. Printer is shown but when I try to print test page it says "Unable to open print file: Permision denied". What should I do?
Thanks,
Damir
Probably something weird like you're expected to be sudo when looking at the config, or instead something is wrong where the printer group (I don't know what it's name is) doesn't have root as a member. Unsure if there's a technical difference related to sudo of a user wrt root for group membership.

Hey Damir,
I totally get your frustration with this printer issue—I've been there myself! It sounds like there might be a permissions hiccup causing the "Unable to open print file" error. Here's what I did to sort it out when I encountered a similar problem:
First off, let's check the printer settings. Go to System Settings -> Printers, and right-click on your printer. Make sure that the permissions are set correctly for your user account[/URL]. Sometimes, during the installation process, the permissions can get a bit wonky, so adjusting them manually might do the trick.
If that doesn't do it, another thing you could try is to print a test page online. There are a few websites out there that allow you to send test print jobs directly to your printer from your browser. One of them I recommend is "www.printtester.com" If the online test print works, then it's likely a local issue with your system configuration.
Hope this helps you get your printer back up and running smoothly!

Ah, I must admit, I completely overlooked the dates! My apologies for the oversight. I'm relatively new to this forum, just browsing through, and stumbled upon this thread. I thought I could offer some assistance.

Really??? You're posting advice from Microsoft Windows on a Linux forum, thinking that would offer assistance??? And posting a link to a spam site to 'test' a printer that the OP *ALREADY KNOWS IS WORKING*, since they can print one page at a time.
