why my printer can't print test page
 

I've tried newest Kubuntu LTS 20.04 and since everything, included printer, worked fine :)I decided to install it. After installing I can print from Libre Office Writer but it is impossible to print test page from System Settings->Printers. Printer is shown but when I try to print test page it says "Unable to open print file: Permision denied". What should I do?

Probably something weird like you're expected to be sudo when looking at the config, or instead something is wrong where the printer group (I don't know what it's name is) doesn't have root as a member. Unsure if there's a technical difference related to sudo of a user wrt root for group membership.

Check that you're in the group lpadmin. Just open a terminal window and issue the command groups.

I did it and get "damir adm cdrom sudo dip plugdev lpadmin lxd sambashare". Have no idea what this mean.

That's the list of groups your username is a member of.

You are in lpadmin.

Did you have to enter your password to open the printer config app?

Once again, unclear just because I've never tried/bothered, but I wonder if: "sudo groups" shows something similar or different.

Never configured much:

~$ sudo groups
[sudo] password for damir:
root
~$

no needs for pasword to open config app

try opening the settings as root.

Really??? You're posting advice from Microsoft Windows on a Linux forum, thinking that would offer assistance??? And posting a link to a spam site to 'test' a printer that the OP *ALREADY KNOWS IS WORKING*, since they can print one page at a time.
