How do you know, what fedora repository to include into centos? I am running centos 5. I tried to install firefox from fedora7, it didn't work. Complained a lot. And I finally went with fedora6 rpm.
RHEL 5 and hence CentOS is based on FC6 and not FC7 so thats why you probably had problems when trying to install an Fedora 7 rpm. Most of the FC6 rpms I have tried have installed and worked as they should on CentOS 5.
Would it be fair to say future centOS 6 would be based on Fedora 7? Any correlation between fedora and centOS numbering system?
No there isn't any correlation between RHEL/CentOS and Fedora releases, so its difficult to know which version of Fedora, Red Hat will use to create RHEL 6 until they release this info to the public.
