Question Really good games on linux

I'm a linux newbie and I'm loving linux but there is some kind of lack of really good linux games. I know that there are great titles like quake3 but where can I find more information about it? Some great sources for hard xperienced gamers!!!! Help, please, this is only why I'm not using linux 100% of the time.

matrixgames.com

They have a game called " Steel Panthers World At War" ( SPWaW ) Supposed to be compatible with Linux. Played on windoze all the time and now awaiting my CD to continue the bloodshed.

It's free and about 470mb to download or pay about $25 for the CD. Not everyones cup of tea but if your into the genre one of the best.
