question: x installation ok, but after...

'm installing linux debian (sarge) in my labtob (HP evo nx9005).
I'm new in installing linux.

I've been reading lots of explanations of installations and I've done more or less what they said:
I installed linux26 (it was the only one that I could install in my computer)
and I didn't install any graphic interphase.

After I use the following commands (that I copied from sources):

apt-get install x-window-server
// this command didn't worked. apt-get says that this pakcage was not avaliable

//I tried to put first the kde (I'm new in linux, so I want a easy one)
apt-get install kde

//After I saw that this did not install the xserver (startx didn't work) so I tried diferent names a part from x-window-server

apt-get install xserver
//this installed xserver-xfree86

/*I tried startx, but there where problems: It said that I need to use apt-get install x-window-server or apt-get install x-window-server-core. As I tried the 1st one before I tried the 2nd*/
apt-get install x-window-server-core

----------------------------
After that startx worked and I can use kde, but:
1. I've done it correctly?
2. why apt-get install x-window-server doesn't work?
3. When I use kde internet is not installed... ok, I'll configure it, but it is strange that I used apt-get to access to internet, but kde can't configure it?

Thanks
