In Windows U can use Partion Magic to add partions without formatting the rest of the HD.

A friend of mine had Windoze Y2K formatted with NTFS as well. Well, after a year Windoze screwed up on him (STOP_ERROR bluescreen on bootup) so I had to use DemoLinux to rescue his files from his own hard drive, because the Windoze recovery console was useless, and DOS boot disks, as you know, were even more useless...

The moral of this story? If you don't absolutely need NTFS, stay away from it. If the Micro$oft setup program forces you to format with NTFS, quit it, format the hard drive with FAT32 (any Windoze 9x bootdisk can handle that job) and run setup again. It should have an option to install Windoze without reformatting your existing FAT32 partition.

Cheers!
