Cool

hi !

i am trying to install linux on my windows.
i already have partitions on my disk, 12 and 8gb.
now i want to make a non destructive partition to install linux on my system. so i used the defrag utility that comes with windows and then i tried doing the partition with fips utility that has come with my linux disk. but when i started fips it indicates that the system type shuld be 4 or 6 but in the info displayed my system type is 00cH , more near to this number.

so how should i go about from here.
i dont want to loose any data on my hard disk

Do you mean you are trying to install Linux in a windows folder? Which distro are you using?

You say you already have two partitions, do you mean c: and d:? And you want to make an area to install Linux on, on one of these drives?

Which are you trying to do?
