Changing resolution in Console. Mandrake 10.

Hello.

I am using Mandrake 10 Official and my console resolution is set to 1024 x 768. I want to change it to 800 x 600. How can I do that?

Any detailed help will be very welcome.

Thanks for the cooperation.

edit/etc/lio.conf comment the line vga = "whatever line is uncommented" and uncomment the line vga = normal.

Some more help, please.

Hello back and thanks PeaceDog!

What are the numbers I have to write in /etc/lilo.conf to get:

a) 800x600 (vga=???).

If I write vga=normal, the fonts become bigger but when I try to run, for instance, fbtv, it doesn't start showing an error message (this didn't happen at 1024 x 768).

is "normal" = 800x600?

Thanks for your help.

vga = normal should be 800 x 600. fbtv may require a higher resolution to run properly.
good luck.

Do you now have "vga=791"? If so, change it to "vga=788"
