AMD based OUI installer can run on Intel based machines?

Hi,

I am trying to do a product installation, by running oracle universal installer runInstaller file.

$ file runInstaller
runInstaller: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.4.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

The installer is based on AMD but my vm machine image is Intel based ( Oracle Linux 5 (Intel 64-bit, Developer)).

is this can be a problem? Please let me know.

thanks.

What happens when you run it?

su ./runInstaller

Generally the phrase AMD x86-64 means only that a x86 class processor with full 64 bit is the target. It rarely means a brand of processor.
