I installed a full version of Puppy Linux on an old laptop directly to the hard drive and I've been having problems with the internet. At first it seemed to be working when I connected, but whenever I try to download anything it cuts the internet off. It still says it's connected but it won't browse. Now the problem has gotten even worse even though I don't believe I've changed anything. Now nothing will load on the internet. It says I'm connected and the internet tests are successful, but I can't browse. I'm using Seamonkey. If you need any other information let me know.

What test did you do?


can you ping on ip?
ping 66.249.91.99
Can you ping on name?
ping www.google.com

If you can ping on ip, and not on name, there is a problem with DNS

Sorry for the confusion I got it figured it out. It turns out the problem wasn't Puppy but the wireless card I was using. It's broken in such a way that it only works for a few minutes then shuts off. Thanks for the time though.
