Full hard disk encryption login (LUKS) not working properly

I was using Linux Mint 17.1 (Rebecca) with the full hard disk encryption (LUKS) with no problems. I then upgraded to Linux Mint 17.2 (Rafaela) and now when I start my laptop (Toshiba T215D), it goes to a dark screen without displaying the Linux Mint LUKS login screen. When the screen goes black/blank, I then hit the down/up/right or left arrow key and a text/terminal line appears and asks me for the password. Everything works fine after I enter my encryption password. Any help in fixing this problem would be appreciated.

Its not LUKS that is the problem, looks like the new kernel/ release of Mint screwed up the framebuffer thats why you get the blank screen.
