You're going to hate me for this, but can you please expand your terminal window to the largest size you can and run the command again. There is some truncation going on in the output above because your terminal window isn't very wide e.g. the first two packages listed should have different names - their names have been cut short.
No, I just appreciate your help very much. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. We had a thunderstorm and our electricity was off for a while.
Now when I restart my desktop computer it is not running in Fallback mode but it now doesn't hook up to the internet. So I am writing from my other laptop. Would you know what to do with it not hooking up.
Hey, Hydrurga. I hope it is okay but since this thing wouldn't connect to the Internet, I decided to try installing all the updates. It ran for a long time. But installed fine and now my computer seems to be working fine on Mint 19.
Is there still more we should check out? Or clean up?

No, that's good news Mark. If you are running apt update then apt upgrade with no warning or error messages then that's fine.
How about the original problem of your computer locking up - does that appear to have been resolved with the upgrade?
No need, you should be fine. Great to hear that the original problem appears to have been resolved by the upgrade - do let us know if you have any other issues.

At first it was running great. Now today at times it gets real slow. Like I have to sit and wait for it to respond to certain things. Like opening an email or a Firefox window. What would do that?
The 'top' utility runs with live output. You've only posted the first few lines. What you should be looking for is applications or processes that are running with unusually high %CPU or %MEM resources.
Thank you! Most times this thing is working great. There are times it gets real slow. I will wait and then try the 'top'. This morning it locked up on me once. But let me watch it today.
I so appreciate your help.
Mark
