Boot problem

I have Mint on a USB Flashdrive and had no problems booting into Linux. I started to install Mint and during the initial questions I stopped the the install. Now when I try and boot into Mint or any distro it gives me a error message. The message is only on the screen for a few seconds before the computer turns off so I haven't been able to read it all. The message says it not find the install file. It will boot into Widows 10 normally. I tried using a Bootable Windows Flashdrive and it worked fine.I have used several boot creators including Rufus,Yumi and LinuxLive. Also have done full reformat of the Flash drive. And used different USB Flash drives. I have a Dell 5558 with Widows 10. What could have made it stop booting to Linux? Thanks

Chances are because you stopped your installation mid-stream, it had probably already over-written your original bootloader on the disk. You're going to have to restore that somehow.

Er... I have to apologize to you. I didn't see this:

...in your initial post the first time I read it. If Windows boots on your system, then the boot loader is fine.

There must be some other issue disallowing the booting of your flash drive. I would just be guessing at this point as to what that problem may be.

Please stand by for some advice from others, possibly.

I hope you get this resolved OK.

Have you tried it with the mouse dongle unplugged?

Unplugged the mouse dongle and still didn't work. Also updated my BIOS to latest version and still no. But I do have the error message it displays. Hope it helps or gives a clue. It's:

Failed to open \EFI\BOOT\mmx64.efi - NOT FOUND
Failed to load image \EFI\BOOT\mmx64.efi: NOT FOUND
Failed to start MoMannager: NOT FOUND
Something has gone seriously wrong: import_mok_state() failed

That should be MokManager - this problem is not your fault, the Ubuntu installs have been screwing with the EFI variables on the motherboard for a while now. Mint is derived from Ubuntu. Several works-arounds are on the web, none I would recommend to a new user.
I would expect a different (as in non-Ubuntu) Linux distro to work - Suse or Fedora for example.

Trying to install Mint 19.3. So it's not the ISO/Boot software I've been using ie.Linuxlive and Rufus? And what non-Ubuntu distro would you recommend for a newbie. The reason I chose Mint was it seemed simple enough and had a Windows-like GUI. I don't plan to dive to deep into Linux. I just want something that's better and more secure the Windows. I'm a basic computer user. I web surf, check email and banking. Watch YouTube and Hulu the usual. So what would you suggest for a non techie?

Looks like I solved the problem. I was able to install openSUSE.I used a Flash Drive with the ISO like the other distros. But this time it worked and it installed. On a whim I put in the Flash Drive that had the Mint ISO and now I can boot into Mint. I guess since SUSE use YaST it somehow fixed my computer BIOS/BOOT manager. I'm happy because while openSUSE is good I really wanted to use Mint. Thank for all you help.
