Urgent - Packard Bell Easynote LJ61 Keyboard Removal

Hi,

I've received a replacement keyboard for my main laptop however there are no instructions and PB are possibly the worst and most secretive company I have encountered in a long time regarding their own products.

How do I remove the keyboard on this model? I've tried the screws in the battery compartment to no avail and I don't want to break something.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on this!

Very much appreciated!

-Gavin

Please don't put words like "urgent" in your posts---some members will skip the thread entirely when they see this.

Does your keyboard have little sliding tabs that hold the it in? (Look carefully at the edges between the keys.)

Not sure what we can do here...if you don't find all the screws/tabs/hooks/whatever that holds in the old one, it won't come out. Not really anything Linux related, or anything we can walk you through. Either you find all the screws/attachments or you don't. Look at the new one, and see where the attachment points are, and compare it to what you've got.

However, if you bought the keyboard, there are probably instructions on the manufacturers website, with pictures. That's the best advice anyone here can give you.

Appologies.

Fixed. Turns out it needs a flathead screwdriver to chip off the top panel.

Not the most elegant solution but it's the only way in.
