I have a sound issue with my Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop running Drake-9. The sound card was detected during the install. The card and driver are listed and apparently working according to the Mandrake Control Center. However, whenever I try to play music or play a game I cant hear anything. Also, I tried to open the volume control and I get a error message saying to check to make sure I have sound support compiled into my kernel. How could I make sure of this?
hm... I really can't help you, as I run redhat 9, but I feel your pain... I'm running on a dell 8100 as well. For me, the sound is fine, but when I try to fix the screen i just get a black screen.
Yea I have 60GBs so I want to split it... I want 2 Linux partitions and the XP one... I want to get Slackware and RH9.. But RH is going in first... That way it will be easier for me to configure Slack..
