Maybe; but you haven't said what you did/tried that caused it to stop working, or tell us what you've already done/tried to get it to work again. We have no idea about your situation unless you tell us.

I don't know what I did. The soundcard is working but there's nothing coming out of the built in speakers or phones out.

In the drop down menu for the Pulseaudio app there should be an analog stereo option but it's completely missing on my system

I checked the BIOS and both the internal microphone and speakers/headphones are enabled.

Whose genius idea was it to remove driver support for Intel 6 series C200 chipsets from the Linux kernel?

Do you have the Pulse Audio Mixer (pavucontrol) installed? It give more options than most volume control applications.

It's in the repos.
