Currently in my home network i have an OLD Dell box (I believe 66Mhz 486) running RH9 (Shrike). I use this as my back up box and in it's current setup it works great, except it's using the onboard disk controller which I think is only 33 speed. So, to hopefully improve the speed, as well as put in a disk large enough to hold everything, I'm looking at putting in a SATA setup.
I've been looking around in newegg and found several cards that will work. Because of the age of the box I know I want one that operates at 33Mhz PCI and (obviously) works with linux. Surprisingly there are still quite a few avalible that meet the requirements, So If anyone would like to look through whats avalible and make any recommendations, I'd be very greatful. Also if you could suggest a disk manufacturer to use with the card, that would be awesome.
P.S. I wil NOT be RAIDing this, single drive only.
Here's what I have found on newegg.com. It shows some 64bit cards too, which (again obviously) won't work:
