how to connect two linux Pcs directly without any modem

hi.... i need your help in connecting two linux PCs directly and not to any LAN or any other internet service... just i want to configure one as server and other as client and to establish a PPP session..

That's called "null-modem", but I never tried it, so Google may help you.

A null-modem is conection between serial ports. In alternative you may use a Ethernet Cross-over cable to connect through ethernet.

Or using a USB cable (if you have USB 2.0 and a Laplink cable). Read here(German).
