Unhappy

Hi,

Im having problems shuuting down my Rehat 7.0 system. From the command I run: shutdown -r now

This seems to shut down all the servers that are running etc but then it hangs forcing me to do a hard reset. When the system reboots after my hard reset it says the filesystems were not unmounted cleanly and thus does a check.

Is there a souloution to this in the OS or is this a hardware problem?

Thanks for any views offered.

You can also try using ctrl-alt-del to bring the system down for a reboot.

shutdown -h now

Still hangs. The message I get is:

init no more processes left in this run level.

Thanks

I managed to fix this problem. I saw that there was no killall and halt scripts in runlevel three. I added these and its shutting down like a dream.

Thanks for the help.
