Lightbulb How to run Windows Application in linux !!


Hello Friends,

I need to Run MSN Messenger and some more application in to Redhat 8.0.

is it work in RHL 8.0?

Thanks to Wine or WineX you should be able to run your favorites Micro$oft tools.

However as last option you could as well give a try to VMware (30-day trial version)

If you need MSN, you can easily use GAIM. I have to use MSN at work and I prefer GAIM when using and logging in from home since I'm stuck on Windows at work. I hate the native MSN Messenger program made for Windows.

I use vmware. It creates a virtual machine where you can install wondow$. You can download a trial version at http://www.vmware.com

so many newbies start off thinking that they can install linux and keep using windows apps some way or other. eventually they realise (unless they've already givenup) that there are perfectly adequate replacements available for linux (except games)

Also try out bochs
It's like vmware but free and harder to setup

I use vmware/windows for two reasons only.

1 My bank can't handle linux browsers.

2 Dreamweaver. For bigger websites it has, so far, no Linux alternatives.
