I've been working very hard to get a Debian 8 system up and running natively (i.e. no chroot) and freely on US Android based HTC Smartphones.
So for those who may be interested, here's a few details and some pictures. Any questions, feel free to ask.
The phone I am developing on right now is a HTC EVO V 4G 3D.
The goal is to enable anyone to be able to install Debian 8 on their smartphone without having to get a custom ROM for each and every little nitty gritty phone sub model and variant and brand and you get the point. Everything is being done using Debian packages and resources so far so it is 100% compatible with the Debian repositories etc.
