reboot.
Before you reboot you need to move the new kernel to /boot along with several other files and edit your boot loader config then run lilo if you use it and.........have a look at the kernel How-To first.
Nope, no make install on Slack...There is a neat little feature called make bzlilo that you do after make modules_install that copies and renames the kernel and map files for you etc...Alot easier than manual copying.

I suppose i'm a bit stupid to edit my lilo.conf manually but I don't trust lilo at all... But I was ignoring that make bzlilo can do it for me.
