I played Descent 1 and Descent 2 back in the 90s and I am still playing d2x-rebirth which is the grandchild of the original game. Highly recommended!! I have an unofficial build script for the git version for Slackware here... This is dxx-rebirth which contains both games.
Supertuxkart runs sufficiently well on a 5 year old intel chip with no additional GPU.
The best thing about it are the addons, community contributed. Tracks mostly - I have 98 installed! And that's not all there is.
- Tomb Raider reboot series, (all three games have native Linux version)
- Hitman 2016
- Dying Light (initially had many issues, but the developer is actively supporting linux version. Now gameplay is very smooth with very few noticeable bugs)
- Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light redux
- Middle Earth - Shadow of Mordor
(Sequels to the games Hitman and Middle Earth are not available on linux, however they play very well using steamplay, so you can continue these series on Linux without needing native support)
