not only does it run, but it runs about TWICE as good as it does on windows!!! HELL YEA!!!

umm...you dont have to, but since you are so awesome at helping, ill ask while i have your attention...

sometimes my mouse freezes...like just a second ago when i was testing it, it froze up and i couldnt aim. i quit out iwth the console and even then, my mouse didnt work. and it has happened in the past when i was just running gnome.

Yay!

Few questions:

1) What sort of mouse is it?
2) Is it USB or PS/2
3) Do you have sound for Unreal?

Reboot your machine and see if there's an option in BIOS for 'legacy USB support'. If that option's there, switch it off.

As for the sound problem, see if there's a program called 'artsd' running. If it is, do 'killall -9 artsd', close the browser, then see if Flash has sound.

Have you got the latest version of Flash? The one before the current one was pretty terrible.

Also, check 'ps -A' for artsd or esd, as both of these can mess up sound.

Try this video:
http://www.xiaoxiaomovie.com/movie/movie03.htm
(It may take a while to load, the server's a bit slow today)
There's a *very* slight delay on my machine (it's the same on Windows, though), but nowhere near a second.

The previous version of Flash had a delay similar to what you're describing, so I think you might have an old version.

[Prowlies at the River]

great movie. i love it, but its got HORRIBLE delay. watch that and tell me what you see. if you get it to, then we are set. just as a reference point, there is a part where he climbs down in the tree(near the begining). i hear him climb down about the time he is leaving. well...tell me when you watch it and ill tell you what its like...dont want to ruin another spot

The timing's perfect on my machine - when one of the purple guys is thrown into the water, the splash is spot on.

Does the delay get worse as the animation goes on, or is it constant?

That's a pretty funny Flash anim, by the way.
