FAQs are for people who #1 use windows and #2 don't know anything about windows (ther I go again with my frustration).
In windows when you install the sims 2 the installation software creates a separate folder in your mydocuments folder that stores your saved game variables as well as custom content. Though since cedega acts as an intermediary for this process I have no idea how it stores saved game variables or even where this folder is / should be located. I have spent hours on google to see if anyone has any problem like mine but after page 2 its all random stuff that has nothing to evem do with cedega. though I have only used linux for three days now, with a total of about 8h of sleep in this 3 day period, I feel I have exhausted all "beginner," FAQs and what not relating to cedega and this issue in general.
Recap: anyone know how to use user created content in the sims 2 through cedega.

Hi addison,
Welcome to LQ.org. I must come out and say I've never tried Sims 2, either on Linux or Windows (or even cedega for years now. Using wine myself though), so I am not sure how custom content works for that game. Assuming all you have to do to install custom content is by copying the files you download to a folder, it should not be difficult.
Cedega stores all your files in a hidden folder at your /home/ folder. Hidden folders in Linux start with a dot "
."
For instance, you probably will find /home/addison/.cedega.
Note: This implies that "addison" is the user you login with.
Assuming also you are using Gnome, you should go to
Places -> Home and type "CRTL + H" to show/hide hidden folders. Once inside .cedega folder, you will see that it has a similar file structure to Windows, so "Program Files" folder should be there as well as your The Sim 2 folder.
You might want to spend a few seconds filling in your profile, as saying which distribution you are using. That would make it easier for us to give more detailed information.
Best of luck!
