how to be a DOOM server ?

Hello,

is it sufficient to choose "Multiplayer -> Start Server" with the options to be a server, i.e. to allow other people to connect to my machine ?

It's because I start the server, but nobody joins me...

thanks

if u're behind a firewall then u need to open appropriate ports. THe offical technical support website should tell u this info. If it's a rounter u use then u need to know how to do oport forwarding. If it's not supported then as far as i know u're screwed.

You can't. Only a computer with the appropriate software installed can be a Doom server, a person can't do it right.

I assume you're talking about doom 3? If so you need port 27666 open on both udp and tcp on your firewall, router, etc. Take care.
