Arioch, one question: Have you been successful at making the UED work under Linux (via Wine or something?)

[edit]

i have an idea where you could host the project: sourceforge.net. they host projects (including games), and if they accept your project (yes, its reviewed by a human and it can be turned down) then you get 100mb web space for free!!! its a good offer! also, im starting to learn c++, so after i gain expr, i could maybe be one of those code monkeys!

I'm installing UT2K# on bth partitions right now
I've been mkng most maps for DukeNuk'em and for friends that play RPG's (without pc's)...
And i'm currently trying to understand how Maya works.
Havven't really used much 3d proggies since Real 3d, imagine and Lightwave on my Amiga (last time 1994).

Fantasy? *smiles* I'm a rabid Warhammer fanatic..
So if there's going to be anything like that i'll be a raving lunatic.
Eh? Ok, i'll be even worse.

To bad that the editor for Savage is so comlete basic. (
That was a dissapointment to me.

Linux - 3D - Blender 2.12

Blender is a really nice little proggie, which (I think) runs in its own accelerated window (w00t!)... Problem is that I would need a resolution of 1280x1024 or more to have all the toolsets visible (I'm stuck with a 15" monitor right now )

So you have to fight the viruses and m$. You could get cool Open Souce powers to take out m$ or protect you from viral infection, and then Super Easy fire and forget m$ powers that are powerful, but slowly corrupt your system.
Yeah, that's good. That'd make it easier to form similar to Super Metroid as well (IE, as far as getting the Open Source powers and stuff I'm wanting to throw in. We gotta have a turbo run since penguins are slow. ). I don't intend to have a Windows port. It should be only for Linux. ...that and maybe the Gamecube or Playstation 2. I hate Microsoft too much to let this game be released to a Microsoft platform without some type of liberation code. It would be kinda hard to let Konqui fly in such a closed in environment though. ...and why sould it be a ship, why just Internet Explorer? Why not go the whole Microsoft spectrum? We can have an opponent called Front Page, as well as a monster called Excel. Both can be bosses (and I want a boss strength indicator too! ).

PS: I know this project is off topic, but if this project is going to get moving, I must learn what libraries are in Linux C++. What are they and what are their M$ Development Studio equivalents? Where can I find that? I have gotten used to using, like, iostream.h, fstream.h, math.h, etc. and those are not in my flavor of Linux. The thread I have started on that has not gotten any activity.

So does the unreal editor run natively in linux?? I just assumed it did because ut2k3 itself, runs natively. And wether or not it's native, where do i get it?? Is it on the cd's or installed automatically?

And i'm gonna download Blender 3D. Give it a shot. See if i can recall my basic 3d modelling from grade 11 . Boy it really sounds like this is getting serious! I sure hope this can get done! I love the idea of being part of a game's development!

blender looks pretty good - detailed - now to try to figure out what it can do.
easiest instructions to install I've ever seen

[for newbies: tar -zxvf package.name.tar.gz then type ./blender in the folder or /path/to/blender/./blender]
