hi,

we did the following
1.started with the chapter 6

3.chroot ed as per the arguments and options given in the book
4.the propram dummy.c ran and gave the same o/p as the book mentioned
{/requesting program interpreter: /tools/lib/ld-linux.so.2}
5.now we ran make for glibc in chapter 6 again and it gave no errors but during make check it gave 2 errors.we have noted the standard error as given below.

/glibc-build/dlfcn/tststatic.o(.text+0x1a): In function `main':

If mtrace isn't compiled correctly, there is a possibility
that your perl version doesn't match the book. I had a
similar trouble.

In my case, the book (ver 5.1.1) assumed perl 5.8.4, but
freshmeat -- following the link from the package page of
the book -- was giving out 5.8.5, hence the error.

If that's the case, one option is to get an older version
of perl tarball from perl website (www.perl.org).

Hope this helps.
