GCC first pass fail

Hi

Background : I've been trying out lfs for a few days without any success. I started out on RHEL 7 as i was quite familiar with it but after 4 attempts, I was told that Red hat and lfs don't get along well.)

Now i'm on arch

Problem :

After a normal binutil install ation, i am getting errors while running make for gcc for the first time.

Here is the output of make :
Code:
configure: error:in `/mntlfs/sources/gcc-6.2.0/build/x86_64-lfs-linux-gnu/libmpx':
configure: error: C compiler can not create executables
See config.log for details.
make[1]: *** [Makefile:11381: configure-target-libmpx] error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/`mnt/lfs/sources/gcc-6.2.0/build'
make: *** [Makefile:865: all] Error 2

Here is my version-chech :
Code:
bash, version 4.4.5(1)-release
/bin/sh -> /usr/bin/bash
Binutils: (GNU Binutils) 2.27
bison (GNU Bison) 3.0.4
yacc is bison (GNU Bison) 3.0.4
bzip2,  Version 1.0.6, 6-Sept-2010.
Coreutils:  8.26
diff (GNU diffutils) 3.5
find (GNU findutils) 4.6.0
GNU Awk 4.1.4, API: 1.1 (GNU MPFR 3.1.5, GNU MP 6.1.1)
/usr/bin/awk -> /usr/bin/gawk
gcc (GCC) 6.2.1 20160830
g++ (GCC) 6.2.1 20160830
(GNU libc) 2.24
grep (GNU grep) 2.26
gzip 1.8
Linux version 4.8.13-1-ARCH (builduser@tobias) (gcc version 6.2.1 20160830 (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 9 07:24:34 CET 2016
m4 (GNU M4) 1.4.17
GNU Make 4.2.1
GNU patch 2.7.5
Perl version='5.24.0';
sed (GNU sed) 4.2.2
tar (GNU tar) 1.29
texi2any (GNU texinfo) 6.3
xz (XZ Utils) 5.2.2
g++ compilation OK
I am typing by hand from a pdf( v7.9), and would really not want to copy-paste.

And I have started from beginnig; this error keeps popping up.

"libmpx is from gmp", this should be untarred in the gcc dir. Did you miss that part or something went wrong.

I'm not using RedHat or Arch, so I'm most likely not going to be the one solving this for you, but
Code:
See config.log for details.
sort of indicates you want to post the contents of that file here...

Ah just seen the config for gcc. Did you miss this out --disable-libmpx? good chance typing by hand. Good reason for copy/paste.

You could check your terminal history to confirm.
